FIRST FUEL EPISODE 8: Wholesale change with Craig Memery

In this week's episode, we are joined by Craig Memery, Policy Team Leader at the Public Interest Advocacy Centre. Craig will be joined by the Energy Efficiency Council's Head of Policy, Rob Murray-Leach and Chief Executive Officer, Luke Menzel, to discuss the AEMC's final ruling on the wholesale demand response mechanism.
This final determination sets out a series of changes to facilitate wholesale demand response in the National Electricity Market (NEM), principally through implementing a wholesale demand response mechanism.
This represents a significant reform for the NEM. Under this rule, consumers will be able to sell demand response to the wholesale electricity market either, directly - in the case of large energy users - or through specialist aggregators for the first time.
