In May 2022 the Energy Efficiency Council, in partnership with the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, delivered the 12th National Energy Efficiency Conference in Melbourne, the first in-person conference in three years.
The conference brought together over 320 of Australia's foremost energy efficiency and energy management experts, forward-thinking policy makers, cutting-edge energy users and innovative industry leaders to debate and analyse the latest thinking on boosting productivity and cutting carbon emissions by saving energy.
The theme The first fuel for net zero focused on the critical role of energy management amidst rapidly evolving policy and technology as Australia's energy markets transition towards net zero emissions.

59 Australian and international speakers presented at the conference over the course of two days. The Energy Efficiency Council is strongly committed to the Equal by 30 campaign and is proud to announce that 46% of speakers were female.
