Paul Lang appointed to EEC Board 14 October 2019

The Energy Efficiency Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Lang to the Council’s Board.

Paul is Business Development Manager for Efficiency and Demand Solutions in Schneider Electric’s Energy and Sustainability Services team. Paul is replacing Stuart Macfarlane, a founding Council Board member who recently retired from the Board after ten years of dedicated service.

Paul brings twenty-five years of experience in the energy sector, including in energy efficiency and energy management services for both large and small consumers. He began his career as an engineer working for manufacturers of industrial equipment, then with major energy retailers before going on to manage a multi-million-dollar energy efficiency capital program for a major retailer prior to joining the team at Schneider Electric.

Council President Professor Tony Arnel thanked Stuart for his outstanding contribution as the longest-serving Board member in the Council’s history, and most recently as Vice President, and congratulated Paul on his appointment.

“I’m delighted to welcome Paul to the Council’s Board. Paul’s experience from all corners of the energy sector will be an asset for the Council as it works to deliver an energy system that works for Australia."

Council CEO Luke Menzel is looking forward to working with Paul to establish energy efficiency as the pre-eminent measure for carbon mitigation; build the market for energy efficiency products and services; and ensure that energy efficiency is implemented with excellence and accountability.

“Paul’s contribution to the Council as a Board member will be invaluable as we work towards delivering the Council’s new three-year strategy and put energy management at the heart of our energy system.”
