He is an experienced executive with extensive experience in the energy, telecommunications, banking and finance sectors and business consulting. Ivan has worked in senior roles with the AGL Group of companies, specialising in both wholesale and retail energy markets. He has extensive knowledge of both wholesale gas and electricity procurement and energy retail management.

Frank Herold is the Executive Commercial Manager – Building Technologies Division at Siemens. He has wide experience in commercial management of international construction, supply, sustainability, infrastructure and maintenance projects. Frank’s expertise is in business management, including economic planning and reporting, mergers and acquisition support, and asset management.

Ivan Slavich and Frank Herold replace Caoimhin Ardren and Stefan Schwab, who are passing on the baton on behalf of Energy Action and Siemens.

EEC President, Prof Tony Arnel thanked the outgoing board members for their service, and said that the appointment of Ivan and Frank to the Council’s leadership will help further the Council’s agenda.

“I’m delighted to welcome Ivan and Frank to the EEC Board. They bring a wealth of expertise that will greatly help the Council’s mission in working with businesses and government to improve affordability, boost reliability and increase cost-effectiveness of energy.”

CEO Luke Menzel says that the EEC’s work has never been more important and the addition of Ivan Slavich and Frank Herold comes at a crucial time.

“Ivan and Frank are excellent proponents of smart energy management. We are pleased to have them on board at this important moment in Australia’s energy transition.”
