Green Global Solutions kicks off global expansion with Singapore launch 27 February 2015

The opening of the new regional headquarters in Singapore is an important step in Green Global's expansion strategy and further evidence of its commitment to being a leading provider of holistic solutions with a focus on corporate sustainability. Green Global will build on the success of existing relationships in the region whilst also exploring new opportunities.

Commenting on the launch, Green Global Solutions CEO, Mr Bob Sharon said: "I’m very excited about the landmark opening of our first offshore office in Singapore. Singapore sits at the nexus of the developed and emerging world and it is a leading hub for commerce, leadership and innovation. Furthermore, it is a gateway to the rapidly growing Asian economies that will enable us to offer new standards of service that both reduce risk, dramatically improve energy efficiencies while providing guaranteed outcomes for our clients in Asia Pacific. Martin Ciupa is the newest addition to our team as our APAC Regional Sales Director, and the first to bring our business off-shore. Martin has lived in Asia for many years and has a wealth of strategic sales experience in IT&T industry.”

As a value-creating partner, Green Global's extensive portfolio unites many aspects of the supply chain eco-system process into an enhanced solution for its clients. Green Global will hold a formal official opening ceremony at their new headquarters located in The Metropolis Tower on Wednesday 1 April 2015.

Green Global's Regional Director Sales, Asia Pacific, Mr Martin Ciupa said: “The Asia Pacific businesses are experiencing rapid growth in the data they use, this is leading to significant expansion in the green data centre markets at an expected rate of 20–30 per cent each year. The enterprises are seeking new facilities that can handle this “data deluge”, of the so called Big Data phenomenon, these facilities need the technical capability in terms of top class servers, high-speed connections, high availability power, managed services to care for the customer equipment, and locations close to their markets."

But these “default” requirements of the Data Centre (mostly provided by all operators) are not the only drivers in the selection by clients. Surveys of the decision makers reflect strong concern in the sustainability and green credentials of the facilities: customers presented with Data Centre proposals of equal technical/price are looking to choose that proposal that is most sustainable (i.e., customers prioritise the Data Centre’s risk profile, resilience, and efficiency of power use highly when evaluating their choices).

With regards to the main regional centres of this market, currently Singapore leads Data Centre outsourcing in the Asia-Pacific region. Furthermore the investments being made by Singapore into the IDA’s Data Centre Park and grants for their “Green Mark” environmental efficiency should support this lead into the near term future. The need for energy efficiency and sustainability is however not limited to Data Centres. The Building Sector (in particular Hospitals, Hotels and Commercial Buildings) is a large market for consulting services to support the deployment of energy efficient air conditioning systems, building management systems and optimum sustainability practices.

Green Global Solutions Pty Ltd, recognizing these opportunities, has set up its local entity, Green Global Solutions Pte Ltd, and office here in The Metropolis Tower. I have the honour of being the Regional Director for Asia Pacific. Green Global Solutions has a unique business model that is purpose designed and entirely focused on supporting Data Centre and Commercial Building
sustainability. With its well established consulting services and partner ecosystem it can deliver guaranteed results. We look forward to leveraging our Australian success story by building our business in Asia Pacific.”

The Asia-Pacific green data centre (GDC) market is expected to grow from $5.58 billion in 2014 to
$20.16 billion by 2019, at a CAGR of 29.29%. The major factors driving the Asia-Pacific GDC market include the need to control the high operational costs and the reduction of energy consumption.*
