Membership

The EEC's members are Australia's experts in energy management, electrification and decarbonisation.

They work with every sector of the Australian economy, and support the EEC's mission to harness the power of energy management and electrification to deliver a prosperous, net zero Australia with:

  • Affordable, reliable energy;
  • Healthy, comfortable buildings; and
  • Productive, competitive businesses.

With such a diverse membership, organisations join the EEC for a range of reasons. However, for most members, a primary motivator is a deep interest in one or more of the following:

  • Driving ambitious government policy by advocating for smart energy management policies and programs that deliver for all Australians;
  • Supporting business decision making and growth with trusted, impartial information on energy so that businesses have confidence making the right energy management investments; and
  • Ensuring quality with standards and professional development by supporting standards development and benchmarking for the sector, and training and professional development for professionals across Australia.

All members have signed up to the EEC's mission statement and Code of Ethics.

Core EEC membership benefits

The Energy Efficiency Council delivers the following core benefits to all members.

Policy and advocacy

The EEC represents its members’ interests in key state and federal policy forums, advocating for positions developed in close collaboration with members.

The EEC works with its members to develop flagship advocacy documents – like The World's First Fuel: How Energy Efficiency is Reshaping Global Energy Systems – and specific policy submissions.

Members contribute to policy development on particular priority issues by joining EEC Task Groups, or through member-only teleconferences and consultations regarding specific policies and submissions.

Members receive the EEC’s exclusive monthly policy briefing, which includes a detailed breakdown of the state of play in state and federal policy from the EEC’s Head of Policy.

EEC members are also invited to join EEC executives at meetings with Australian energy departments and boardroom-style Leaders’ Lunches with Ministers.

Business growth

The EEC partners with a range of government, business and professional organisations to deliver events and collaborative projects that support businesses through Australia’s energy transition. This includes the EEC’s flagship business-focused event, the Energy Management Zone inside ALL Energy Australia, where members can directly engage with energy users.

Members’ projects and initiatives are often featured as part of EEC projects, including on the EEC’s business-focused information portal, energybriefing.org.au. Members are also offered first priority access to sponsorship opportunities for events and communications.

EEC members are highlighted on the products and services directory on the EEC's website, with areas of operation navigable so that energy users can reach them.

All members also receive a Membership Certificate and Member Logo to display in their offices and use on their website and promotional materials.

Professional development

The EEC offers members discounted registration at EEC and partner events, including the EEC’s annual National Conference, regular lunchtime energy policy forums on topics of national interest, and other Council events.

Discounted registrationis also offered to members undertaking Performance Measurement and Verification Analyst (PMVA) and EEC Certified Professionals certifications, and other training and professional development programs.

The EEC also holds regular networking opportunities with the EEC's Board, executives and industry colleagues across the country.

Membership fees

Association fees and turnover thresholds are set annually by the EEC's Board, and are correct for FY2024. All dollar values are exclusive of GST.

ClimateWorks Centre

ClimateWorks Centre

We bridge the gap between research and climate action and catalyse action towards net zero within Australia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific. Our collaborative approach helps key players in our region create practical, tailored climate solutions across the whole economy. We've set our sights on making net zero a reality across the entire economy. This is critical to limiting warming to 1.5 degrees, in alignment with the Paris Agreement.

Our four pillars approach is how we can get there;

  1. Energy efficiency and conservation
  2. Decarbonise electricity
  3. Electrify and switch to cleaner fuels
  4. Reduce non-energy emissions and offset

Our end-to-end approach underpins how we collaborate and design programs. We develop agenda-setting research and apply it to specific contexts to meet stakeholder needs. We then implement our findings and empower people to create change.
