EEC announces its new Board of Directors 04 December 2023

At the conclusion of last week’s Annual General Meeting and half-Board election, EEC Chief Executive Officer Luke Menzel has announced the organisation’s new Board of Directors.

The EEC sought nominations for five vacancies for the coming two-year terms. Four were reserved for EEC industry members, with one for the position of Treasurer, which is directly appointed.

We are pleased to announce that James DiLiberto, Alistair Fraser, Merrily Hunter and Caroline Ottman have been elected to the board, with John Huggart re-appointed as Treasurer.

Of our new directors, we’re delighted to welcome AZZO Chief Executive Office James DiLiberto, who joins for the first time.

Over the past decade James has become a leader in Australia's energy efficiency and energy portfolio management sector. With an international team of over 50 engineers, James leads the development of power monitoring control systems for integrated energy management, energy efficiency, and DER orchestration, and has extensive experience in traditional and renewable energy systems for utility, commercial and industrial markets.

“I believe energy efficiency is the foundational block that the renewable energy transformation is building on," James said. I’m looking forward to working with the EEC to help frame effective policies based on real experience I see every day."

“People know you can’t control what you don’t measure and verify," James continued. "I’m passionate about turning data into actionable outcomes, and I’m honoured to join the EEC Board in greater service of Australia’s energy management community.”

“I would like to congratulate James DiLiberto for being elected to the Board for the first time, alongside Alistair, Caroline and Merrily, who have each been re-elected," said EEC President Mary Stewart.

"I would also like to thank Luke Konynenburg of Green Energy Trading for nominating in what was a very close election. We were delighted to have so many members voting, and wish to thank those of you who participated. I would also like to thank my colleagues for their hard work and their service to the Energy Efficiency Council and look forward to with them and Council staff for the next two years."

Following this announcement, the EEC’s Board Directors are as follows.
