Welcome to new EEC President Merrily Hunter, and heartfelt thanks to Dr Mary Stewart for three years at the helm 27 June 2024

At yesterday's meeting of the EEC Board we saw a passing of the baton, with Dr Mary Stewart formally stepping aside as we welcomed new EEC President, Merrily Hunter.

We're delighted to welcome Merrily to the role of President, which she takes on with the unanimous support of the Board after joining it in 2019 and serving as Vice President since 2021. As flagged in her closing address at the EEC National Conference, Mary will remain with the EEC Board as an ordinary member.

Mary has overseen a period of significant growth at the EEC. She was first elected to our Board in 2017 and chaired its Strategy Committee for two years before her appointment as Vice President in 2019, and President two years later. Mary has engaged deeply with members, played a crucial role in raising both our profile and our impact, and behind the scenes has been a mentor to the entire EEC leadership team.

A longtime energy efficiency professional, Merrily is the CEO of MAC Trade Services, a one-stop-electrification business of more than 200 installers and employees dedicated to
the Australian energy market’s transition to more efficient technologies since 2014.

Further, we warmly welcome Lisa Zembrodt as the EEC's new Vice President. Lisa is the Principal and Senior Director of Sustainability Business for the Pacific Zone at Schneider Electric and has nearly 20 years of experience in managing complex and dynamic risks and opportunities in the energy transition.

We are sure you'll join us in welcoming Merrily and Lisa as the EEC's incoming President and Vice President, and in thanking Mary for her ongoing outstanding service to the EEC. We are looking forward to continuing to work closely with our Board on the EEC's crucial work on behalf of all members.
