Australia's premier event for energy efficiency and demand response is coming to Sydney!
The Energy Efficiency Council is excited to announce that the National Energy Efficiency Conference 2018 will take place on Monday 19 - Tuesday 20 November at Sofitel Wentworth, Sydney.
In 2018 the National Energy Efficiency Conference celebrates its tenth year, and over the course of a decade it has built an outstanding reputation as Australia’s flagship event for energy efficiency, distributed generation and demand response.
The Conference will bring together Australia’s foremost energy efficiency experts, forward-thinking policy makers, innovative energy users, political leaders and industry trailblazers to network, debate and analyse the latest thinking on boosting productivity by saving energy.
Our theme for 2018 – Better cities, stronger industry, cheaper energy – reflects energy management's growing role in making cities liveable, manufacturing viable and energy affordable.
This year's Conference will have a truly global perspective. The EEC is proud to announce that the event will once again be delivered in collaboration with the International Energy Agency’s Energy in Buildings and Communities Programme (EBC).
As one of the IEA’s international technology collaboration programmes, the EBC carries out research and development focusing on the integration of energy efficient and sustainable technologies into healthy buildings and communities.
Our last Sydney Conference in 2016 welcomed over 400 delegates. Don't miss out – register for the National Energy Efficiency Conference 2018 today!
For our tenth anniversary we’re bringing together unparalleled line up of global experts and Australian leaders.
Matt Golden is transforming the debate around energy management in the US. He is the CEO of Open Energy Efficiency, which is creating an open source platform that allows energy savings to be valued based on when and where they occur. This type of approach could dramatically increase the reward for energy savings while lowering the cost of our energy system.
Prof Peter Hennicke is an economist and professor for economic policy and energy economy. Since the 1980s he has been one of the most prominent and persistent pioneers of the German energy transformation – the Energiewende – holding senior appointments with the think tanks, universities, the German Government and the European Union.
Dr Takao Sawachi is the Chair of the International Energy Agency Buildings and Communities Program and the Vice President of the Building Research Institute, Japan. His research topics have been around the energy performance of buildings and their indoor environments, and he has led the development and maintenance of the Japanese energy calculation tools for the national building energy code.
Our keynote speakers will be joined by an extraordinary line up of international and Australian experts, including:
- Bjarne Olesen, Technical University of Denmark
- Dr Dominique Hes, University of Melbourne
- Ian Hamilton, University College London
- Ken Morrison, Property Council of Australia
- Kylie Mills, Australian Passive House Association
